The
Brazilian press is reporting daily the polemic subject about a luxury triplex
purchased by the former President Lula da Silva, in the Guarujá resort, São
Paulo city.
“BANCOOP CASE: THE LUXURY TRIPLEX OF LULA
AND HIS WIFE IS DELAYED”
“The President Luiz Inácio
Lula da Silva and his wife, Maria Letícia, are owners of a luxury triplex in
the Astúrias Beach, in Guarujá Resort, but they wait since five years ago in
the row of members from Bancoop (the bank clerks’ dwelling cooperative from São
Paulo) for receive the apartment”.
“When was asked, the
Presidency confirmed that Lula da Silva continues being the owner of that
property”. (Just the underlined text was translated.)

So, Lula da Silva is owner of luxury triplex in Guarujá
resort, according himself!

In 7th December, 2014, the O Globo journal published another similar news:
“CREDIT UNION DELIVERS LULA’S TRIPLEX, BUT 3 THOUSAND
MEMBERS STILL WAIT THEIR PROPERTIES”.
“In the former president’s real estate declaration, in 2006, during his campaign to reelection, he had confirmed, at time, that paid 47,695 Reais to Bancoop for apartment from Guarujá. (…) The Lula’s apartment, with 297 m², in the 16º floor, beachfront, was appraised by Factual Real Estate Agency, that still sell apartment at place, about 1,5 million to 1,8 million Reais. The Lula’s advisory affirms that property is declared: ‘The former president informed that property, which was purchased still in the plan and paid by installments throughout years, is known in his public declaration of real estate as candidate to reelection in 2006’”. Again, Lula da Silva says that he is owner of luxury triplex in Guarujá
resort, in a new article published in the same journal.
________________________________________________________________Despite this facts, in 1st February, 2016, the G1 News, a website of the Globo Organizations, published a contradictory article:
“LULA’S INSTITUTE DENIES AFFIRMATION
THAT FORMER PRESIDENT IS OWNER OF LUXURY TRIPLEX IN GUARUJÁ RESORT, SÃO PAULO”
________________________________________________________________________
In 27th February, 2016, one
more time, the O Globo journal published a news which Lula da Silva denies
again the ownership of luxury :
“LULA DENIES THAT HE IS OWNER OF COUNTRY HOUSE AND
LUXURY TRIPLEX, HE STRIKES THE PUBLIC ATTORNEY’S OFFICE, MEDIA AND JUSTICE”
“Former president said that country house was a
friend’s surprise to him”
“He (Lula) denies
also that is owner of luxury triplex in Guarujá resort (São Paulo): ‘I say that
I don’t have apartment. A citizen, obeying the Globo journal and TV Globo,
says that luxury triplex is mine. This is a sui
generis situation. When the lawsuit finishes, you can give me the apartment
and the country house’” (Just the underlined text
was translated.)
There are contradictions
among the Lula’s declarations, but none article was published about this fact,
by any journal or TV.

Now, the Lula’s case is investigated by a prosecutor from São Paulo, who seemingly never read the first Lula’s declarations described above. In 29th January, 2016, the G1 (Globo 1) website published the news below:
“PROSECUTOR SUMMONS LULA
AND HIS WIFE MARISA TO DEPOSE ABOUT LUXURY TRIPLEX”
“The Public Attorney’s Office from São Paulo state is investigating the suspicion that former president Lula would have omitted the ownership of luxury triplex 164-A, with 297m², placed in the Solaris condominium, Astúrias Beach”.
‘The prosecutor affirmed to Jornal Nacional that there are indications that there was attempt to hide the true identity of the owner of luxury triplex. (…) Declarations of real estate – During his reelection, in 2006, the president, at time, Lula presented, in his declaration of real estate, a quota of an apartment in construction of Bancoop, in Guarujá, appraised on 47,695 Reais”. (Just the underlined text was translated.)
Despite
Lula da Silva had declared years ago that he is the owner of luxury triplex in
Guarujá resort, the authorities and the press don’t remember his declarations
(or they don’t want).
